Tiny Fins

Tiny Fins

📅 Session 1 – Saturday, April 11th

🕗 Start Time: 8:00 AM
📍 Location: Our club fields (arrive around 7:50 AM if you can)

On Saturday morning, each Tiny Fin will receive their own ball and water bottle. It’s always a special moment – make sure to take your time, soak it all in, and snap plenty of photos. Trust me, our first-day setup is something other clubs haven’t been able to top!

👕 Training Shirts

We’re cutting it fine on shirt delivery – they’ve been delayed slightly. Fingers crossed they arrive by Friday. If not, we’ll adjust with a fun twist and go through a mini induction again. Thanks in advance for your understanding.

🏉 What to Expect

Session 1 tends to kick off on-field around 8:15 AM after everyone settles in with their gear. Our sessions run in two-week blocks, focusing on one skill across two Saturdays.

First up? Learning how to fall safely – this is a core skill before kids get into the Under 6 Tag fun. It’s all about setting the right foundation.

Pro tip: Once your child gets their ball, please write their name on it! (We’ve learned the hard way that taking the ball away from a Fin is not a good idea 😅). We’ll also have separate training balls available for the sessions.

🎯 Our Philosophy

Tiny Fins is all about fun, confidence, movement, and friendships. The more fun the kids have, the more they learn — and the more tired (and happy!) they’ll be afterwards.

Our canteen opens at 8:00 AM, and you’ll find it buzzing once the session wraps up at 8:45 AM. We’ll pack up quickly after to clear the field for the next scheduled game.

🙌 Meet the Coaches

We’ve got a great team lined up for 2025:

Junior Coaches

  • Jax Barnett (U11 Silver)
  • Luke Gleeson (U11 Silver)
  • Kai Baxter (U11 Gold)

Senior Coaches

  • Kynan McClelland (U13 Bronze)
  • Reyne Newtown (U13 Silver)
  • Taj Forster (U13 Silver)
  • Nixon Rye (U13 Gold)

These legends bring great energy and experience to our youngest players. Our Junior Coaches are especially relatable for the little ones, while the Senior Coaches bring top-tier skills and leadership. Kynan and Luke are our original crew – they know this program inside and out and will help run most activities once we’re underway.

With these coaching numbers, we’re looking at an approx. 4:1 kid-to-coach ratio – at least until the kids decide to sprint off in all directions (which they will – and we’ll be chasing them with smiles!).

📲 Communication

Every Friday, you’ll get a text from me confirming the Saturday session is on and sharing any quick updates (e.g., photos, reminders). No WhatsApp group – I’m maxed out already and don’t want to miss any of your messages.

If you have any questions, just shoot me a text.

See you Saturday – bring the energy!

Warm regards,
Daryl Gleeson
